Oh Give Me A Spouse (A Song for My Wife)

While digging up Christmas stuff, we came across this song that I wrote for my wife last year – to be sung to the tune of Home, Home on the Range.

OH GIVE ME A SPOUSE

Oh give me a spouse
Who will help ’round the house
Who will make sure his bathroom is clean
Oh make him proactive
Because what I find attractive
Is a man loading a washing machine

Oh lord, give me a man
Who will help cook and clean up our home
Who will strive to impress
By straightening up this big mess
Instead of playing with his god damn iPhone!

Up in the Air

Recently, I crossed the 2 million lifetime-to-date miles threshold at American Airlines.  That’s a lot of time in planes, trains and hotel rooms.  Aside from working and catching up on my reading, I also pass the time by writing.   I try to avoid serious writing – too much of that in my normal work.  Instead, I prefer plays on words, wry observations, satire – the kind of humor that helps  you cope with the situations you encounter while traveling and in daily life.  This blog is dedicated to those kinds of writings.  I hope to update it regularly but, knowing me, this may be my first and last post.  We shall see…
